Good Music on Maui

Maui is obviously known for its miles of beautiful coastline, but it’s also know for it’s musicians. There are many talented musicians that call Maui home and we are fortunate to have one of the most amazing places for concerts whether indoors or outdoors. Friday January 18, an Oregon based artist by the name of Mat Kearney will be adding his own style of hip-hop grooves coupled with folk guitar to Maui’s eclectic collection of visiting musicians. Tickets are available online at http://www.mauiarts.org/?p=2&Month=01&Year=2013&showID=645 or available at the door. The show is scheduled to start at 7:30 p.m. See you there!

Horseback Riding

There are so many options for visitors of Maui, I can see why choosing a few great activities to do while you’re here could be daunting. Hopefully, this short guide will help. I’ve included links to the booking agent I use when friends fly out to visit but don’t be afraid to look around! I use Hawaii Activities because they book the highest volume of activities for the local companies who in turn provide them the best deals… Think of them like the WAL MART of activities!

There is only one name that I will recommend here, and its the Piiholo Ranch company in Upcountry, Maui. About 30 mins from Wailea and 45 from Lahaina, this will be one of your favorite adventures on Maui and is PERFECT for Honeymooners or large families. Cost is very reasonable, usually around 43-48 dollars depending on the season, and you can look forward to TREMENDOUS good times while riding the gorgeous horses through the lush and scenic upcountry areas of Maui. The terrain is much different, and its a NON NEGOTIABLE for visitors looking to experience Maui to the fullest!
