The Royal Lahaina Resort's Myths of Maui Luau

If you’re planning on vacation on Maui and wanting to attend a luau, the Royal Lahaina Resort’s Myths of Maui Luau is definitely a first class experience. The resort recently made some improvements to the grounds as well as their seating process.

The entrance has been beautifully landscaped to give you a first-class experience from the very beginning. The grounds have lush grass, white coral rock, and new tiki torches. The beautiful location and the tiki torches against the backdrop of a Maui sunset will be sure to create memories that will last forever.

The Royal Lahaina Resort has also changed their seating process. Previously, guests had to arrive early, stand in line and wait to get seats on a first come, first served basis, but now the resort has assigned seating. All seats are pre-assigned by table so there is no need to arrive early and stand in line anymore. We recommend that you check in at 5:00 and as you check in, your seats will be ready for you.

The Royal Lahaina Resort has also added new pre-show activities for your children. They can learn to twirl poi balls, or learn to make a ti leaf bracelet, or even have one of the luau dancers give them a Maori moko face painting.

Westin Waiele Luau

Kaanapali Beach Luau Sunset
My wife and I just took our kids to the Westin Waiele Luau in Kaanapali. It was an excellent luau, we all had a great time.

The check-in and welcome was top notch and we were seamlessly shown to our seats. We were sitting in preferred seats, so it was great to be up close to the stage. One thing that really impressed me at the beginning was that we had been there only a few minutes and our children were served a bowl of macaroni and cheese. This is a great attention to detail, that anyone who has young children could appreciate.

One thing that is unique with the Westin Luau is that the food is served “family style” with all of the food placed in the center on a “lazy Suzanne” of the round table. It cuts down on the congestion to not have to get up and go through a buffet line.

The food really was quite excellent. I was very excited to find Poke to be part of the Pupu (appetizer) serving. The meats during the main course were cooked great, the pork was very tasty.

All of the performers did a great job. It was great to see the Fire Dance performance utilize some nearby waterfalls and surrounding. It really engaged the audience.

All in all, great job Westin Waiele Luau! We look forward to seeing you again.
