Get ready to ascend over 10,000 feet and 38 miles, from sea level to the summit of Haleakala, where you'll get to visit its park headquarters. Upon arrival you'll be treated to a continental breakfast before a majestic show that only nature can pull off.
After observing the sunrise and visiting the visitor's center, you'll start your drive back down, when you'll start noticing the dramatic changes in climate and terrain. You'll get to see the magnificent Silversword plant, found nowhere else in the world, and by the time your tummy starts growling for a hearty breakfast, you'll stop at one of Maui's premier restaurant for a full breakfast, also included in your tour. After your breakfast your tour will take you back to your hotel or condo, for a time to reflect on your awesome experience and possibly to take a much needed nap!
Due to Haleakala summit's elevation, temperatures are usually about 30 degrees cooler than at sea level, so we recommend you dress warmly and in layers. Before sunrise you may experience temperatures as low as 20 degrees Fahrenheit, but soon after sunrise, you'll notice the warmer air, and of course, as you head down the highway, the temperature and terrains will change, until you are back to sea level at the 70's and 80's.
